There are so many products available in the market these days and most of them of are full of chemicals which may make your hairs look bright for some time but are harmful in long run.
So, skip those harmful products and turn to natural hair conditioners for your locks. Here are some easy and quick recipes for homemade natural hair conditioners and masks to make your hairs smooth and silky.
Jojoba and Shea butter mask for dry and frizzy hair
- Jojoba oil – ¼ cup
- Shea butter – ¼ cup
- Ylang-ylang oil
- lemon oil – 15 drops
Melt shea butter in double boiler and add jojoba oil in it. Add total of 15 drops of essential oil in the mixture. Apply from mid length to tips and leave for 30 mins. Clean it with mild shampoo. This mask works well for frizzy hairs. Shea butter provides moisture to dry hair and jojoba oil gives necessary nourishment to lifeless hair. You can also use tea tree oil or sage oil for hair. Use it once a week and see the difference. This one is my current favorite. Simple to make, easy to use natural hair conditioning mask that works amazing for frizzy hairs.
Avocado and coconut oil mask for weak hair
- Avocado (ripen) – ½
- Coconut oil – 1 tablespoon
- Rosemary oil – 10 drops
Mash the ripen avocado and add coconut oil in it. Add essential oil. Apply this mixture on your hairs from top to bottom, till the ends. If you have very dry scalp, you can use it on scalp also. Leave it for 15-20 mins. Cover with a shower cap to avoid dripping. Wash it off with a mild shampoo. Avocado and coconut oil give deep nourishing to weak hair and make them strong. Coconut oil also helps in preventing early grey hair.
Banana, olive oil and honey mask for damaged hair
- Banana (ripen) – 1
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoon
- Honey – 2 tablespoon
Mash the banana. Add olive oil and honey and mix well. Apply on your hairs and leave it for 20 mins. Wash it with shampoo. Banana prevents shrinkage of hairs, honey add shine to your hairs and olive oil provides the required nourishment to the damaged hairs. If your hair is damaged from any chemical treatment, this is the best mask for you.
Apple cider vinegar and lavender natural hair conditioner for lusterless and dull hair
- Apple cider vinegar – ½ cup
- Water – 2 cups
- Lavender oil – 10 drops
Mix all the ingredients. Put the rinse solution in a sprinkler and spray it on the scalp and hairs. Leave it for 30 mins and rinse it with water. Do not shampoo after it. You can also leave it on the hairs (if not applied on scalp).
Green tea and mint natural hair conditioner for dry hair
- Green tea – 1 cup
- Mint leaves – handful
- Water – 2 cups
Bring 2 cups of water to boil and add mint leaves to it. Let it boil till the water reduces to half. Let it cool. Mix it with 1 cup of green tea. Rinse your hairs with it after shampoo for fresh hairs and scalp. Green tea provides smooth texture to the hairs with mint provides preventing scalp infections and other problems caused in hot summer and helps in cooling.

Note:
A hair mask needs to be washed with shampoo after use where as a conditioner is used on clean hair after shampoo and depending on the type can be a leave-in or rinse off. Always use a natural and mild shampoo for your hair. You can add a few drops of essential oil according to your need like, cedar or bergamot oil for oily hairs, lavender oil for dull hairs, lemon oil and ylang-ylang oil for normal hairs. You can also add tea tree oil or peppermint oil for their anti-bacterial and cooling properties respectively. Protect your hair from harsh sunlight. Either use leave-in sunscreen conditioner or cover them properly when stepping in scorching sun for long time.
