Aata Biscuit | Whole Wheat Cookies easy to make and exactly like bakery-made ones.

Aata Biscuit | Whole Wheat Cookies are easily made cookies that we can prepare easily at home. These are crispy yummy cookies, you can’t go wrong while baking these yummy cookies. Most cookies that we buy from the market are made of maida which is not healthy. These cookies use whole wheat flour/ atta, which is nutritious and easily available ingredient at home. You can easily bake them at home for your tea-time. So, please try to make these biscuits at home and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Use soft butter instead of melted butter.
  • You can make the cookies of any shape of your choice.
  • If you have salted butter, do not add salt while kneading the dough.
  • If you have an aluminium baking tray, either grease it with oil or use a butter paper.
  • Allow the cookies to cool completely after baking.

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour/Aata - 1 cup
  • Butter - 1/2 cup
  • Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom/Elaichi powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk - 3 tablespoon or as required
  • Salt - a pinch

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add butter and powdered sugar. Mix well till it becomes soft.
  3. Add and mix well whole wheat flour, baking powder, and cardamom powder and mix well.
  4. Gradually add milk to the mixture and start making a soft dough. Add salt while making the dough. Do not knead the dough, just mix to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Now, take a small portion of the dough, and roll it on a rolling board till it become thin (1/2 cm thick). Now cut the cookies with a cookie cutter.
  6. Place them on a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
  7. Once the cookies are light brown on both the sides, take them out. Allow the cookies to cool and yummy cookies are ready to eat.
  8. Delicious 'Aata Biscuit | Whole Wheat Cookies' are ready to be served with tea.
