Besan Pizza | Instant Besan Pizza is a delicious snack that is a homemade variant of the Italian delicacy, pizza.

Besan Pizza | Instant Besan Pizza is a really quick, healthy variety of pizza. This recipe requires basic ingredients like gram flour and veggies. This is extremely easy to make. You can also make it, even if you do not have a microwave oven, and still enjoy this delicacy. Loaded with vegetables and cheese, this makes for an ideal snack. Not just easy, but this colorful pizza is loved by kids as well as adults.

Tips and suggestions by the Chef –

  • Use chilli flakes as per your liking or completely skip it, if you want.
  • Keep the flame on low, while roasting the base.
  • You can either use tomato sauce/ ketchup instead of pizza sauce or vice versa.
  • you can use spices / mixed herbs as per taste.
  • Use any veggies that you like.
  • Generally, this method on the stovetop in the pan is easier. But, if you like it in a microwave oven, prepare the base and cook both sides perfectly in a pan, and then make pizza in a microwave.

Ingredients

  • FOR PIZZA BASE -
  • Gram Flour / Besan - 1 Cup
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Carom Seeds / Ajwain - A pinch
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required
  • FOR TOPPING -
  • Tomato ketchup or pizza sauce - 3 Teaspoons
  • Mixed herbs - 1/4 Teaspoon ( as per taste )
  • Chilli flakes - A pinch
  • Black Pepper powder - A pinch
  • Onions - 1 Cup thinly sliced ( julienned )
  • Green Bell peppers - 3 thinly sliced ( julienned )
  • Tomato - 1 thinly sliced ( julienned )
  • Cottage Cheese / Paneer - 1/2 Cup ( diced )
  • Cheese - 3 teaspoons ( grated )

Instructions

  1. FOR BASE -
  2. In a bowl, take gram flour, add little water, salt, carom seeds seeds and mix everything well.
  3. Adjust the consistency of batter, by slowly adding water. Keep it a little thick
  4. FOR MAKING PIZZA -
  5. Grease the pan with oil and heat the pan.
  6. Just when the pan is hot, put soda in the batter and whisk vigorously.
  7. Immediately, spread the batter on the pan, a little thick. Just like a pizza base.
  8. On very low flame, cover and let it cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
  9. Once the bottom side is cooked, flip it over.
  10. Now, spread tomato ketchup or pizza sauce all over the base.
  11. Sprinkle mixed herbs and chilli flakes, pepper powder.
  12. Add onions, green bell peppers, tomato and paneer pieces. Sprinkle with little mixed herbs and chilli flakes.
  13. Finally add grated cheese and cover and cook for another 3 - 4 minutes.
  14. Once the cheese melts, the pizza is ready.
  15. Take it out of the pan and transfer on to the cutting board to cut into pieces.
  16. Serve this delicious Instant Besan Pizza and relish it.
