Chana Dal Open Sandwich – Tasty!

East meets West! Chana dal in a sandwich? Try this open sandwich with just minimal ingredients and experience a whole new flavour in your morning sandwich!

Ingredients

  • Chana dal paste - 1 cup
  • Brown bread - 4 slices
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Dry red chilli paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic paste - 2-3 teaspoon
  • Oil for shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Soak Chana Dal for 2-3 hours. Grind it to make a fine paste. Make the red chilli paste out of dry red chillies.
  2. Add salt, red chilli paste and garlic paste to the chana dal paste and mix it well.
  3. Take the bread slices and spread the paste on both sides. Shallow fry on a tawa.
  4. Serve the Chana Dal Open Sandwich with your choice of chutney or ketchup. I enjoy them with green chilli pickles.
