Chatpata Poha Appe | Cutlet Recipe is a mouthwatering evening snack prepared in an appe pan. This is an Instant nonfried snack. It requires just a drop of oil. Moreover, it has just 3 main ingredients poha, potato and peanut powder along with some spices. It can be made in a form of cutlets or appe and served. This is a crispy and delicious snack perfect for an evening party and can be made instantly for unexpected guests too. So, try this super yummy chatpata snack at home and give us your feedback.

  • You can adjust the taste as per your choice by making it spicy adding more dry ingredients and nonspicy by adding lesser dry ingredients.
  • You can make it in desired shapes cutlet or tikkis if appe pan is not available.

Ingredients

  • Potato / Aloo - 1 Mashed or grated
  • Flattened Rice/ Poha - 2 Tablespoon
  • Crushed Peanut powder - 2 Tablespoon
  • Turmeric/ Haldi - 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Red chilli powder/ Lal mirch powder - 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Roasted Cumin powder / Bhuna Jeera powder - 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Garam masala / All spice mix - 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves - 1 Tablespoon chopped (optional)
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Firstly, wash and soak the flattened rice for 10 minutes and strain the water. Keep aside.
  2. Take a bowl add the mashed potatoes, soaked flattened rice, crushed peanut powder and all the dry spices.
  3. Add coriander leaves(optional) and mix all together well.
  4. Peanut powder brings crunchiness to the dish. You can make it without peanut powder too.
  5. Smear your hand with little oil and make small round balls or tikki out of the mixture.
  6. Meanwhile, heat an appe pan and brush the cavities of the pan with one of drop oil. Place the round balls in the cavities of the pan.
  7. Let the balls cook in the appe pan in slow flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Cook them on low flame till they change their colour into light golden brown. You have to flip them in between to all sides to cook evenly. Check at regular intervals.
  9. Three versions of this recipe appe, cutlet and appe without crushed peanut powder is ready.
  10. Chatpata Poha Appe | Cutlet Recipe is ready to be served as an appe or tikki.
