Chocolate Cake | Chocolate Cake in Pressure Cooker is an eggless and delicious cake. This is a healthy and lip-smacking cake baked in the pressure cooker. You can easily make this yummy snack and dessert at home without any hassle. This uses healthy ingredients and does not require butter. This chocolaty treat will be a hit among everyone especially kids. This recipe is very simple and easy to prepare a perfect, spongy cake at home. So, try to make this cake at home and enjoy with your loved ones.

This recipe was prepared under the live cooking contest ‘Zayka World Cup’ by a lovely mom – Ekta Agarwal.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • In this recipe mixture of refined flour and whole wheat flour used. But you can make the cake the with one of the flour too.
  • Use powdered sugar only because it gets melted quickly.
  • Use fresh homemade malai/cream for better taste.
  • Remove the rubber ring and whistle of the pressure cooker lid before baking.

Ingredients

  • Refined flour/Maida - 1/2 Cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour - 1/2 Cup
  • Milk powder - 1/4 Cup
  • Cocoa Powder - 2 Teaspoon
  • Powdered Sugar - 1/2 Cup
  • Thick Malai/Homemade cream - 1/2 Cup
  • Baking powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Milk - as required to make the batter (room temperature)
  • Vanilla Essence - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - 500 Gram or as required for baking

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl, add malai and powdered sugar. Mix well until sugar gets melted.
  2. Now, sieve the refined flour, whole wheat flour, milk powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda in a bowl. Mix it.
  3. Add little milk at a time and mix lightly. Make thick but flowing consistency batter using milk. Add vanilla essence and mix well.
  4. Meanwhile, take a pressure cooker. Spread the salt. Preheat the pressure cooker for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Grease a baking pan with oil or ghee. Then spread the flour. Remove the extra flour. Pour the batter and tap the pan twice or thrice.
  6. Once the pressure cooker is heated, place a stand then the pan.
  7. Remove the ring and whistle of the pressure cooker lid. Close the lid of the cooker and bake the cake on a low flame for 25 to 35 minutes.
  8. After 20 minutes, check the cake by inserting a tooth pick. If it comes out clean then it is ready or else bake it for more 5 to 10 minutes.
  9. Once the cake is baked, take the pan out. Let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Then de-mould the cake.
