Coconut Milk | Homemade Coconut Milk is very useful and healthy milk.

Coconut Milk | Homemade Coconut Milk is creamy milk that you can use to make different types of curries. This is a good alternative for those who are lactose intolerant. It is very healthy and creamier that marketed ones. This is purely homemade hence free from preservatives, additives and colour. You can easily prepare this milk at home using fresh coconut. You can use coconut milk instead of regular cow or buffalo milk as well. Apart from this, you can use the residue as a homemade scrub. By making this milk at home you will get benefitted twice. So, try to make it at home and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can use first milk and second milk to make different recipes like Thai Coconut Rice
  • Keep the milk in the refrigerator for 2 days. OR you can prepare ice cubes out of the milk and can use it for a longer time.
  • You can prepare scrub using the residue. Just mix the sugar and coconut milk to it and use.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Coconut - 1 big sized
  • Water - as required

Instructions

  1. Chop the fresh coconut into smaller pieces or you can scrap it using a scraper.
  2. Take a grinder jar and add chopped coconut, 1 & 1/2 glass water (depending on the size of coconut, you can add water accordingly). Grin to make fine paste.
  3. Take a bowl and put a sieve on it. Put a muslin cloth over it. Strain the ground mixture. Squeeze the milk completely. This is the first coconut milk.
  4. Transfer the residue to the grinder jar and add 1/2 glass water. Grind it again then sieve it. This is the seconds coconut milk.
  5. You can use the residue as a scrub. To make the scrub, take a bowl and add 1 teaspoon of the residue, 1 teaspoon sugar, little coconut oil. Homemade scrub is ready. (use granulated sugar)
