Dal toast is an easy and healthy snack or breakfast.
Dal Toast is so simple, easy, and yummy dish. The main ingredients are moong dal, ginger, green chili, onion, capsicum, and spices. Moong dal is packed with protein and low on carbs, is one of the most recommended vegetarian superfoods. An integral part of the Indian diet, it is extremely light and easy to digest. Dal Toast can be served with ketchup or green chutney. It is a snack time recipe and also can have as breakfast or can be given in Tiffin. It is delicious as well as a healthy recipe. The best thing about this recipe is it’s taste, which is so simple that you can grab a bite of it anytime. Ingredients

  • Moong dal/yellow lentils split - 1 cup
  • Salt - as required
  • Onion - 1 small-sized finely chopped
  • Capsicum - 1 small-sized finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1 small-sized grated
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 small piece finely chopped
  • Green chili - 1 small-sized finely chopped
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - as required
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon (as required)
  • White/multigrain/whole wheat bread - 2
  • Sesame seeds/til - as required
  • Ghee - as required

Instructions

  1. Take a cup of moong dal and wash it properly.
  2. Soak it for 2 hours and grind it to a smooth paste. Add salt to the paste.
  3. Add onion, carrot, capsicum, coriander, ginger, and green chili.
  4. Add chaat masala, black pepper, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix it well
  5. Take 2 slices of bread and spread above mixture over it and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  6. Heat a pan and grease it with ghee.
  7. Place both the bread slice spread mixture on it. Cover and cook until golden and crispy. Keep the flame medium.
  8. Apply ghee on the top and corners. Flip the toast. It should be crisp from both sides.
  9. Transfer it to the serving plate and cut it into halves.
  10. Delicious and healthy Dal Toast is ready to be served
