Dhaniya Wale Aloo is a delicious weekend special curry. 

Dhaniya Wale Aloo is an easy and tasty sabji. It is made with potatoes, coriander leaves, and some spices. Potatoes are deep-fried and then simmered with spicy coriander gravy. You can serve it with jeera rice, paratha, naan, chappatis, or poori on special occasions. In addition, you don’t need tomatoes to prepare the gravy of sabji. It is different than the regular sabji. Furthermore, potato and coriander leaves are very common vegetable that is available at any time. So, try this recipe in your kitchen and share your feedback in the comment section.

Ingredients

  • FOR FRYING POTATO :
  • Potato / Aloo - 2 Diced
  • Oil - For frying
  • FOR PREPARING DHANIYA WALE ALOO :
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A bunch
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch chopped
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1 Chopped
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Water - As required
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds / Rai - 1 tsp
  • Bay Leaf / Tej Patta - 1
  • Cardamom / Elaichi - 1
  • Clove / Laung - 2
  • All spice mix powder / Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream / Malai - 2 tbsp
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR FRYING POTATO :
  2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. When the oil is hot, add potatoes. Fry them on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Deep fry potatoes until they become crispy and golden brown from all sides. Then, take them out on tissue paper to soak extra oil.
  4. FOR PREPARING DHANIYA WALE ALOO :
  5. Take coriander leaves, green chilli, ginger, salt, and little water in a grinding jar. Grind it to make puree. Keep it aside.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, bay leaf, cardamom, clove, and coriander puree. Mix well.
  7. Now add little water, salt, all spice mix powder, and dry fenugreek leaves by rubbing them between your palms. Mix well. Cook it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame.
  8. Then add fresh cream and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.
  9. Now add the fried potato. Mix well and cook it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame.
  10. 'Dhaniya Wale Aloo' is ready to be served.
