Achaari Paneer Sabzi

Who doesn’t love achaar ? The aroma of achaar is so lovely and tempting that it is difficult to resist from licking it. So I  wanted to combine this beautiful lip smacking flavour with another favorite Paneer. Though I have never tried this combo, I wanted to try it once. And now this is going to be a signature dish of mine 🙂

Ingredients

  • Paneer/Cottage Cheese 200 gms
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chili powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin Seeds, Mustard Seeds- 1/2 teaspoon mixed
  • Methi, Saunf and Kalaunji - 1/4 teaspoon mixed (optional)
  • Oil as needed

Instructions

  1. Cut cottage cheese/paneer into cubes. Do not fry.
  2. In a bowl, add paneer cubes. Add little salt if you want. Mix gently.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a saucepan. Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and methi, kalaunji and saunf mix ka tadka.
  4. Lower flame. Now add the red chili powder (for extra red color) to the oil and immediately add paneer cubes mixed with achari masala to it.
  5. Let it cook for 4-5 mins on low flame. If you use less oil, then either add some milk or curd (1- 2 tspn) else the masala might get burnt.
  6. Yummy Paneer Achari is ready for serving.
