Kerry (Kacche Aam) Ka Achaar | Raw Mango Pickle | 5-minute recipe is easy to make and can be made instantly. Pickles are a must-have item in all Indian homes. It has a tangy taste which will make your taste buds tickle asking for more. You just need raw mangoes and a few spices and your pickle is ready. It goes well with almost anything, like roti, paratha, rice etc. This stays good for a few days when stored in a glass jar. Summertime is the best time to prepare this when mangoes are easily available. So, try this at home and give your valuable feedback.

Ingredients

  • Raw Mango/Kaccha kairi - 1 cup cut into small pieces with the skin
  • Methi / Fenugreek seeds - 2 Teaspoons
  • Fennel seeds/ saunf - 2 Teaspoons
  • Kalonji/ Nigella seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Jeera / Cumin seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Rai/Mustard seeds or Sarson/Mustard seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder/ lal mirchi powder - 1 to 11/2 Teaspoon as per taste
  • Salt - 1 Teaspoon
  • Hing / Asafoetida - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Mustard oil/Sarson ka tel - 2 Big spoons

Instructions

  1. Wash raw mangoes properly, dry it and cut it into small pieces.
  2. Dry roast fenugreek seeds and fennel seeds for 1 to 2 minutes on slow flame. Let it cool.
  3. Once cooled, grind the roasted masala in a mixie jar into a fine powder.
  4. Now add nigella seeds, mustard or rai seeds, turmeric, chilli powder, salt and Asafoetida to the cut mango pieces.
  5. Again add to this the roasted ground masala. Mix it well.
  6. Then add Mustard oil and mix well.
  7. Kerry (Kacche Aam) Ka Achaar| Raw Mango Pickle is ready to serve.
