Mangalore Buns is one of the tastiest breakfast dish.

Mangalore Buns is a soft & fluffy, sweet, and delicious bun or poori prepared using ripe bananas. This can be served for breakfast or as an evening snack. It is one of the best recipes that people of all age groups love.  You can serve these with hot tea or coffee for an energising evening treat. Ingredients

  • Ripe Banana/Paka hua kela - 1/2
  • Curd/Dahi - 1 tbsp
  • Jaggery/Gud - 2 tbsp
  • Clarified butter/Ghee - 2 tbsp + for greasing
  • Baking soda - a pinch
  • Whole wheat flour - as required
  • Oil - as required for frying
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl, add banana, curd, jaggery, 1 tbsp of ghee, baking soda. Mash and mix well.
  2. Add whole wheat flour gradually to prepare a medium soft dough.
  3. Apply ghee and knead the dough again. Then cover it and keep it aside for 2 hours.
  4. Now, heat oil for frying. Meanwhile, Grease the rolling base with ghee and make small thick poori out of the dough.
  5. Fry the poori in hot oil. Lower the flame and fry it until it turns nice golden brown. Once done take it out in a plate.
  6. "Mangalore Buns" are ready to be served.
