Methi Thepla – Evening Snack

Methi Thepla is a famous Gujarati snack which is very flavorful and makes for a great travel or picnic food.

Methi Thepla is a very famous snack among Gujarati people for which they are known for all over the world. By adding any green chopped or grated green vegetable like Bathua, Spinach, Coriander Leaves etc, you can make thepla from it. I have used methi or fenugreek leaves here.

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 3 cups
  • Bajra Flour - 1 cup
  • Fenugreek Leaves (Methi) - 1 cup finely chopped
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger garlic chilli paste - 2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Seasame seeds - 3-4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable Oil - as required for cooking the thepla
  • Salt , Red Chili Powder - As per taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all above ingredients and knead a medium-soft dough. Leave it covered for half an hour around.
  2. Make round balls from it and roll them flat one by one coating with fine wheat flour(if required).
  3. Roast them with help of oil side by side over tawa till light brown/pink.
  4. Serve methi thepla hot with Green Chutney or Curd or Pickle or Tea.
