Neer Dosa

Neer Dosa is a very popular recipe from Mangalore. It’s a staple diet of most of the families in Southern part of India and can be prepared very easily. It tastes yum with Coconut or Tomato chutney or Vegetable sambhar

Ingredients

  • Dosa rice : 2 cups
  • Fresh grated coconut : 1/2 cups
  • Water : 3 cups
  • Salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice for two hours.
  2. Drain the excess water and add it to the mixer jar.
  3. Add fresh grated coconut and salt.
  4. Add water little by little and grind it so that the batter becomes very fine and smooth.
  5. Take this batter into a large bowl. Add the remaining water to it to get a flowing water consistency.
  6. Heat a non stick pan, add some drops of oil and rub with a napkin.
  7. Spread the batter on the pan thinly and cook it on medium flame for 8-10 minutes. The dosa will separate itself from the pan which means it is done. Do not flip it.
  8. Take it into a serving plate. Serve it with coconut chutney or any other chutney of your choice.
  9. Enjoy Mangalore special Neer Dosa.
