Peanut Usali | Groundnut Usali is a super easy and delicious tea-time snack for all.

Peanut Usali | Groundnut Usali is a very healthy and easiest tea-time snack. The boiled peanuts are tossed with the tadka of ghee, green chilli, cumin, curry leaves. Fresh coconut and lemon juice also added to the dish and it gives a nice taste. This is a very simple snack that gets ready in just 5 minutes. As we know peanuts or mungfali is a rich source of protein. It is very good for growing kids and all family members. So, try to make this 5 minutes evening snack for you and your family. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can have this snack on a fasting day. Just replace the normal salt with rock salt. Skip the cumin seeds if you do not eat it when you are fasting.
  • Adjust the sugar and spiciness as per your taste.

Ingredients

  • Peanuts - 1 Cup boiled
  • Green chilli - 1 to 2 chopped
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Coriander leaves - for garnishing
  • Fresh grated coconut - 1/2 Cup
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/Heeng - a pinch or 2
  • Sugar - 1/2 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Lemon juice - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Boil the peanuts in the pressure cooker for 2 whistles. Then strain the water completely.
  2. Now, heat a pan and ghee.
  3. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter. Then add asafoetida, chopped green chillies, curry leaves. Saute it.
  4. Add boiled peanuts to the pan and mix well. Add salt and sugar. Give a nice stir.
  5. Add grated coconut and mix well then switch off the gas.
  6. Add lemon juice to it. Mix well. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  7. Yummy 'Peanut Usali | Groundnut Usali ' is ready to be served.
