Pesto Pasta | Pasta in Pesto Sauce is a lip-smacking and healthy pasta for everyone. 

Pesto Pasta | Pasta in Pesto Sauce is a quick and easy to prepare using homemade Pesto sauce. This is a colourful and delicious meal option. This is an Italian delicacy and is healthy as well. This uses Italian Basil leaves along with spinach and walnuts. This has a nice flavour of garlic and olive oil. This requires fewer efforts and time for preparation and cooking. Everyone will love this pasta and they will enjoy. This can be a good party snack as well as a meal. So, try to make this new pasta at home and enjoy with your family and friends. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • If you do not have Italian Basil leaves then you can make it with spinach only. Add more garlic to the pesto.
  • You can use dry fruits like pine nuts, almonds as well.
  • Store the pasta sauce in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
  • You can use pesto sauce as a spread as well.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR PESTO:-
  • Italian Basil Leaves - a handful
  • Spinach Leaves/Palak - a handful
  • Garlic - 4 to 5 cloves
  • Crushed Walnuts - 3 to 4 Tablespoon
  • Crushed Dry Red Chilli - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese - 1 to 2 Tablespoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Olive oil - as required to make paste
  • INGREDIENTS FOR PASTA:-
  • Penne Pasta - 1 Cup
  • Cherry Tomato - 4 to 5 cut into two pieces
  • Italian Basil Leaves - a handful
  • Black and Green Olives - as required chopped
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Crushed Dry Red Chilli - as per taste
  • Pesto Sauce - as required
  • Olive Oil - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE PESTO:- Wash Italian Basil and spinach leaves. Then boil water in a vessel. Add Basil leaves and boil for 30 seconds. Take it out and put it in the chilled water. Repeat the process to blanch spinach leaves.
  2. Now, take a grinder jar and add blanched basil leaves and spinach leaves. Add garlic, crushed dry red chiili, grated Parmesan cheese. green chilli, olive oil, salt, crushed walnuts. Grind it to make smooth paste. Use more olive oil if required to make paste.
  3. PREPARING THE PASTA:- Boil water in a vessel. Then add pasta and little salt. Let it boil until the pasta is cooked. Then drain the water completely and wash under cold water. Sprinkle oil on it and keep aside.
  4. Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a pan.
  5. Add basil leaves, cherry tomatoes, black and green olives. Saute for few seconds. Add little salt, crushed dry red chilli. Mix well and saute for few seconds.
  6. Then add boiled pasta and saute for few seconds.
  7. Add pesto sauce and mix well. Cook it on a low flame. Cover and let it simmer for 30 seconds then switch off the flame.
  8. Delicious 'Pesto Pasta | Pasta in Pesto Sauce' is ready to be served. Garnish it with chopped green and black olives, grated Parmesan cheese and serve it hot.
