Protein Rich Weight Loss Snack | 5 Minute Recipe is a healthy snack. This uses fox nuts, peanuts, pumpkin seeds. This snack is protein-rich, high fibre and vitamins. This snack is good for growing kids and adults. This is very easy to make with easily available ingredients. Makhna or foxnuts is a superfood. It is rich in protein, fibre and a good source of calcium. Fox nuts are good for those people who are suffering from high blood pressure. Makhana is recommended to diabetic people as this has a low glycemic index. This superfood has an anti-ageing enzyme which repairs the protein. These are low in calorie hence good for weight loss too. Similarly, peanuts are rich in protein, minerals, fibre, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, and antioxidants. Also, melon seeds have various health benefits. So, try to make this crunchy snack for your family and be healthy.

Tips and Suggestions by the Chef:-

  • You can add melon seeds, flax seeds or any type of seeds to this snack to make it more healthy.
  • Ghee for roasting is recommended as this is healthy and cleanses the body. One should have a tablespoon of ghee/clarified butter every day as per Ayurveda.
  • You can make and store it for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

Ingredients

  • Fox nuts/Makhana - 1/2 cup
  • Peanuts - a handful
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - 2 Teaspoon
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1/2 to 1 no chopped
  • Tomato/Tamatar - 1/2 to 1 no chopped
  • Red Chili Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - to taste
  • Chaat masala - as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - chopped as required
  • Black Salt/Kala Namak - to taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Lemon juice - of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Take a pan, add 2 teaspoon ghee and heat it.
  2. Add makhana/fox nuts and peanuts roast them on a low to medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes. Roast it until it turn crispy.
  3. After 5 to 7 minutes, to check whether the fox nuts is roasted or not. Press with fingers it will break with a popcorn like sound.
  4. Transfer the roasted makhana/fox nuts and peanuts in a bowl. Put the chopped onion, tomato and coriander leaves.
  5. Now, add salt to taste, red chili powder and chaat masala as per taste. Then, put black salt and squeeze the lemon juice of half lemon. Mix well.
  6. Yummy 'Protein Rich Weight Loss Snack' is ready to be served.
