Raita Recipe | 5 Types of Raita are an assortment of five delicious side dishes for lunch and dinner.

Indian thali is incomplete without the raita. So, here we have Raita Recipe | 5 Types of Raita which includes Cucumber Peanut Raita, Pomegranate Raita, Spicy Mint Raita, Mixed Fruit Raita, Raw Mango Raita. These are so delicious and healthy side dish for daily meals. They are perfect for summer days as this is made of curd/yoghurt, different types of fruit and some spices. These are very easy and quick to prepare. Moreover, you can prepare these yummy raitas within minutes and without any hassle. All family members will love these including kids. So, try to make this at home and enjoy with your family.

This recipe was prepared during the live cooking contest ‘Zayka Premier League’ by a lovely mom from Delhi – Sheenu Duggal.

Ingredients

  • FOR CUCUMBER PEANUT RAITA:-
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 1 cup
  • Cucumber/Kheera - 1/4 cup, grated
  • Peanut/Mungfali - 2 to 3 Tablespoon, roasted and chopped
  • Mint/Pudina leaves - a few + for garnishing
  • Mint powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Black pepper powder - to taste
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - as per taste + for garnishing
  • Chaat Masala - to taste
  • Roasted Cumin/Jeera powder - to taste + for garnishing
  • FOR POMEGRANATE RAITA:-
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 1 cup
  • Pomegranate seeds - 2 to 3 Tablespoon + for garnishing
  • Pomegranate Juice - 2 Tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Roasted Cumin/Jeera powder - to taste
  • Chaat Masala - as per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - to taste + for garnishing
  • Black Pepper powder - as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - as required for garnishing
  • FOR SPICY MINT RAITA:-
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 1 cup
  • Mint leaves - a few
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Salt - to taste
  • Roasted Cumin/Jeera powder - as per taste
  • Mint leaves - as required for garnishing
  • FOR MIXED FRUIT RAITA:-
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 1 cup
  • Onion - 2 Tablespoon
  • Tomato - 2 Tablespoon
  • Cucumber - 2 Tablespoon
  • Ripe Mango - 2 Tablespoon
  • Banana - 2 Tablespoon
  • Apple - 2 Tablespoon
  • Pomegranate seeds - 2 Tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves - 2 Tablespoon + for garnishing
  • Green chilli - to taste
  • Roasted Cumin Powder - as per taste + for garnishing
  • Chaat masala - to taste
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - to taste + for garnishing
  • Black pepper powder - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • FOR RAW MANGO RAITA:-
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 1 cup
  • Raw mango - 1/4 cup, grated
  • Coriander leaves - 2 Tablespoon
  • Sugar - 2 Teaspoon or to taste
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - to taste + for garnishing
  • Chaat masala - to taste
  • Roasted Cumin/Jeera powder - to taste
  • Oil - less than 1 Teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Dry Red Chilli (round, small sized) - 2

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING CUCUMBER PEANUT RAITA:
  2. Take a bowl and add whisked curd and other ingredients. Mix well. Transfer to another bowl and garnish it with mint leaves, red chilli powder and roasted cumin powder.
  3. PREPARING POMEGRANATE RAITA:
  4. Take a bowl and add whisked curd and other ingredients. Mix well. Transfer to another bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds and red chilli powder.
  5. PREPARING SPICY MINT RAITA:
  6. Make a paste of mint leaves and green chilli. Take a bowl and add whisked curd. Add the mint-green chilli paste, salt, and roasted cumin powder. Mix well. Transfer to bowl and garnish it with mint leaves.
  7. PREPARING MIXED FRUIT RAITA:
  8. Take a bowl and add whisked curd and other ingredients. Mix well. Transfer to another bowl and garnish with coriander leaves, roasted cumin powder and red chilli powder.
  9. PREPARING RAW MANGO RAITA:
  10. Take a bowl and add whisked curd. Add grated raw mango, sugar, red chilli powder, chaat masala, coriander leaves, and roasted cumin powder. Mix well.
  11. Now, prepare the tadka. Heat a tadka pan and add oil. Add curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and dry red chillies. Pour this tadka into the bowl.
  12. Transfer another to bowl and garnish with red chilli powder.
