Sooji Vada | Semolina Vada is a mouthwatering instant snack.

Want some instant snack recipes for kids. So, here is ‘Sooji Vada | Semolina Vada’ recipe. This is super quick and easy preparation perfect for evening tea-time. This is crispy from the outside, soft and fluffy from the inside. The tea and this sooji/rava vada is a perfect combination for a rainy day. You can instantly make this vada without any soaking and grinding. You can make this vada for Sunday brunch or for a tiffin too. So, try to make this vada at home and enjoy it.

  • Make the dough with the hands for proper mixing.
  • Add a little curd at a time to make the dough.
  • Fry the vada on a medium flame so that it cooked perfectly.

Ingredients

  • Sooji/Rava/Semolina - 1 Cup
  • Curd - as required to make the dough
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Coriander - 1 Teaspoon chopped
  • Curry leaves - 1 Teaspoon chopped
  • Onion - 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon finely chopped
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper Corns - few
  • Fruit Salt (Eno) - 1 Teaspoon
  • Oil - as required for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add semolina, 1 teaspoon curd, salt, coriander leaves, curry leaves, finely chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, and black pepper corns. Mix well. Add a little more curd to make the dough. You can add a little water too.
  2. Now, add fruit salt and 1/2 Teaspoon water. Mix well. If you have time, rest the batter for 10 minutes or else you can make the vada immediately.
  3. Heat oil on a medium flame for frying. Wet your hands and make vada of desired size (just as we make a medu vada).
  4. Once the oil is medium hot, fry the vada on a medium flame. Fry until it turns a nice golden brown color. Then, take it out on a tissue paper.
  5. Delicious 'Sooji Vada | Semolina Vada' is ready to be served.
