Soyabean sabji is so healthy, rich in proteins and vitamins, and quick to cook.

Soyabean Sabji is an easy sabji prepared with soaked soya chunk. The main ingredients are cumin seeds, onion, tomato puree, soya chunks, and spices. This recipe is both healthy and tasty. It is especially nutritious for kids. The tanginess of tomato goes well with soya chunks to make it for a great lunch/dinner meal. It is a healthy sabji recipe with a good source of proteins for vegetarian lovers. Soya bean sabji can be served with roti, chapati, paratha, and even with hot steamed rice. It is a good source of vitamins especially vitamin d and hence it is recommended for kids. So, try to prepare it and enjoy it with family and friends. Share your feedback.

  • Boil soya chunks well and drain off the water, else they might be causing indigestion and smell bad as they are rich in protein.
  • Cook the tomato puree well to avoid raw smell in the sabji.
  • Serve it hot with roti, chapati, or phulka.

Ingredients

  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soya chunks - a bowl
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Hing/asafoetida - a pinch
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Onion - 1 big sized julienne
  • Tomato - 2 big sized
  • Ginger - 1 small piece
  • Green chili - 1
  • Salt - as required
  • Garam masala/mixed spices - 1 teaspoon
  • Amchur powder/dry mango powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - as required
  • Kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Boil the water, add salt and soya chunks, keep the flame high and boil it for 10 minutes. As it boils, drain the water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add cumin seeds, hing, bay leaf, and onion. Saute it until the onion color changes to pink. Keep the flame to medium.
  4. Meanwhile, make a tomato puree. For the puree, we need tomatoes, ginger, and green chili. Grind it well to make a puree.
  5. Add puree to the pan and saute it on flame low.
  6. Add salt, garam masala, amchur powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Saute and cover it around 4 to 5 minutes.
  7. Add soya chunks, some water, and mix it well. Keep the flame high.
  8. Add kasuri methi (crush it with hands).
  9. Turn off the flame and garnish it with coriander leaves.
  10. Delicious Soyabean Sabji is ready to be served.
