Suji Samosa is a yummy preparation and a famous snack across India.

Suji Samosa is a mouthwatering snack that loved by all. The spicy potato mixture filled in dough then fried. This is quick and easy to prepare. It is a healthier verson as compared to regular samosa because we used semolina instead of refined flour. It is a crispy and tasty snack that can be served with tomato ketchup or any type of chutney. It can be good tea-time snack or party snack or picnic snack. So, try to make this yummy snack at home and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH:-
  • Suji/Semolina - 1 Cup
  • Oil - 1/4 Cup
  • Lukewarm water - to prepare the dough
  • INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING:-
  • Boiled Potato - 2
  • Green chilli - 1 chopped
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece grated
  • Coriander leaves - a handful chopped
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Amchur powder/Dry mango powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam masala/All spice mix - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Crushed coriander seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Crushed fennel seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • OTHER INGREDIENTS:-
  • Oil - for frying
  • Maida/Refined flour - 1 Teaspoon (to seal the samosa) + for dusting

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE DOUGH:-
  2. Take a bowl and add semolina with oil. Mix well.
  3. Add lukewarm water to make a dough.
  4. Cover the dough with a cloth and keep aside to rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. PREPARING THE STUFFING:-
  6. Mash the boiled potato in a bowl. Add grated ginger and chopped green chilli.
  7. Add coriander leaves, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, crushed coriander seeds, crushed fennel seeds. Mix all together.
  8. Take a small bowl and add a teaspoon of refined flour with 2 to 3 teaspoon of water. Mix well. (This mix will be used to seal the samosa)
  9. PREPARING SAMOSA:-
  10. Now, take the dough. Knead it well for 3 to 4 minutes.
  11. Make small round balls of it. (smaller than a chapati ball)
  12. Take a dough ball and roll it. Dust it with a flour and roll it into chapati.
  13. Cut this chapati into half.
  14. Take the half of the chapati and apply some refined flour mix on the edges. Make a cone out of it.
  15. Put the potato stuffing in it. Press lightly with hands.
  16. Apply the refined flour mix on the edges of the cone and seal it propely.
  17. Meanwhile, heat oil in a kadai for frying.
  18. Once the oil is hot, fry the samosa on a low flame.
  19. Fry the samosa until they turn nice golden brown from both the sides. Take them out on a tissue paper.
  20. Yummy 'Suji Samosa' is ready to be served with tomato ketchup.
