Besan Uttapam is a delicious tiffin snack for everyone. 

Besan Uttapam is a very healthy and tasty dish. This has veggies like onion, tomato and cheese to enhance the taste. Moreover, this is super quick and very simple to prepare using fewer ingredients. When you are late for the work or want to pack your kid’ tiffin quickly then this is a perfect option. This does not require much preparation. It is a hassle-free dish as well. So, try to make this tiffin option and let us know your feedback.

  • You can use any topping of your choice.
  • Make the batter little thick but of flowing consistency.
  • Cook the chilla on a low flame by covering with a lid.
  • You can roast the chilla from both the sides if you want.

Ingredients

  • Besan/Gram Flour - 2 Tablespoon
  • Semolina/Sooji - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Black pepper powder - as per taste
  • Chopped onion - as required
  • Chopped tomato - as required
  • Grated Cheese - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required
  • Chaat masala - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - as required for roasting

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add gram flour, semolina, salt, black pepper powder. Add water to make thick but little flowing consistency batter.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a tawa or pan. Grease it with ghee/clarified butter.
  3. Make small pancakes on hot tawa. Top the pancakes with chopped onion, tomato. Press it with hands.
  4. Then add grated cheese, coriander leaves, chaat masala. Pour some ghee on top. Press the topping with a spoon.
  5. Cover and cook it on a low flame for 1 to 2 minutes. Once done, take them out.
  6. Delicious 'Besan Uttapam' is ready to be served.
