2 types of Raita in 5 minutes include Spicy Mint Raita and Tadke Wala Raita. It is so simple, easy, and quick refreshing recipe to round off any meal. The main ingredient here – plain yogurt/curd. Raita on the other hand likes to be thick but also has a more liquidy consistency (also a choice thing). Keep the consistency creamy but not super thick, which gives a nice amount of flavor in every bite. The most common spice used is roasted cumin powder which is good for digestion. These cooling and refreshing yummy raitas can be relished with Paranthas, Pulao, biryani, or any spicy Indian dish. Ingredients

  • Plain yogurt/Curd - 1 bowl
  • Mint and green chili paste - 10 to 11 or (fistful) leaves of mint ,1/2 green chili and 1 tablespoon water
  • Dry mint powder - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Black pepper powder - a pinch
  • Black salt - a pinch
  • Chat masala - as per taste
  • Mint leaves - 2 or 3 for garnishing
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Dry red chili - 2
  • Onion - 1 small finely chopped
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder - as per taste

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl of curd and whisk it properly.
  2. Transfer the curd to serving bowl.
  3. Now make the paste of mint leaves and green chilli.
  4. Add mint paste, dry mint powder, salt, black pepper powder, black salt, and chat masala. Mix it properly.
  5. Now, garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  6. Delicious Spicy Mint Raita is ready to be served.
  7. Now, for tadka wala raita, take a bowl of whisk curd.
  8. Heat oil in a frying pan.
  9. Add mustard seeds. Let them crackle.
  10. Add dry red chilies. Roast a bit.
  11. Add onions and saute for a while.
  12. Now, switch off the flame and add red chili powder to the tadka. Mix it well.
  13. Add tadka to whisk curd.
  14. Now, add cumin powder and salt. Mix it well
  15. Delicious Tadka Wala Raita is ready to be served.
