Aloo Ki Kachori is a very famous crispy Indian snack.

Aloo Ki Kachori is a delicious, spicy, fried puff snack. It is a flaky, crisp kachori filled with yummy potato filling. This can be part of the main meal. You can serve it as a snack or a starter or a breakfast with a hot cup of tea. This kachori also makes a mouthwatering appetizer. This is an instant and simple recipe with no need for any preparation. We just need to cook the potatoes and make the masala just before making kachoris.   • you can skip the onion.
  • The dough of kachori should be a little bit soft from the dough of chapati.
  • Keep the dough to rest for 10 minutes to make it fluffy.

Ingredients

  • FOR DOUGH
  • Whole wheat flour/Gehu ka atta - 1 cup
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Water - as required
  • Salt - to taste
  • FOR STUFFING
  • Aloo/Potatoes - 2 medium sized, boiled
  • Onion/Pyaaz - 1 chopped (optional)
  • Green chili/Hari mirch - 1 finely chopped
  • Asafoetida/Hing - a pinch
  • Red chili powder/ Lal mirch powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder/Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
  • All spices mix powder/ Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - as required
  • OTHER INGREDIENTS
  • Oil - for frying

Instructions

  1. FOR DOUGH
  2. Take a bowl, put whole wheat flour, salt and oil in it. Mix well.
  3. Now, add water and knead a soft consistency dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. FOR STUFFING
  5. Take a bowl, mash potatoes in it. Now add coriander leaves, chopped green chili, chopped onion, hing, red chili powder, coriander powder, all spices mix powder and salt.Mix them well and keep aside.
  6. FOR KACHORI
  7. Heat oil for frying in a kadai/wok. Take one medium portion of the dough. Dust it with flour and spread with fingers and palms.
  8. Place that stuffing on the dough. Bring the edges of the dough together and join them at the center.
  9. Now, dust it with flour. Roll it slightly using a rolling pin. Repeat the process for making other kachoris.
  10. Place the kachoris in hot oil. Fry the kachoris from both sides on medium flame until they turn golden brown. Once done, take them out.
  11. Crispy and mouthwatering 'Aloo Ki Kachori' is ready to be served.
