Aloo Paratha – Punjabi Style is a very famous flatbread and is very delicious.

Aloo Paratha – Punjabi Style is very famous and mouthwatering stuffed flatbread. Spicy potato mixture stuffed in the wheat flour dough then rolled and roasted. This a complete meal in itself. Add a dollop of butter and serve it with curd. This paratha is very yummy and easy to prepare. So, try this recipe and enjoy with your family.

This yummy paratha was prepared by Ranjeeta Kaur – A lovely mom from Punjab.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • For the spice mix: Take a grinder jar, add 3 tablespoons of coriander seeds, 2 tablespoons of jeera, 1 tablespoon of black peppercorns. Grind it coarsely. Add this masala in the stuffing.
  • You can use ghee or oil or butter to make the paratha.
  • Serve this yummy paratha with butter and curd.

Ingredients

  • Boiled potato - 6 to 7
  • Onion - 2 chopped finely
  • Chopped Ginger - 2 Tablespoon
  • Chopped Green chilli - 2 Tablespoon
  • Ajwain/Carom seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - 3 Tablespoon (finely chopped)
  • Coriander seeds - 3 Tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 2 Teaspoon
  • Black peppercorns - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter or Oil - for roasting
  • Wheat flour dough - 1 Cup or as required
  • Butter - as required for serving

Instructions

  1. Peel and mash the boiled potato. Add salt and mix well.
  2. For spice mix: Take a grinder jar, add coriander seeds, jeera, black peppercorns. Grind it coarsely.
  3. Take a bowl and add mashed potatoes, finely chopped onion, finely chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger, carom seeds, spice mix. Mix all the ingredients well. (Rub the carom seeds with your palm and then add to the mixture)
  4. Take a tawa or non-stick tawa and heat it on a low flame.
  5. Take a small portion of wheat dough (It should be less than the roti peda). Dust it with flour. Roll it in small circular shape.
  6. Put the stuffing in the middle and seal it properly. Spread the stuffing evenly with hands.
  7. Roll this lightly with the help of rolling pin.
  8. Grease the tawa with oil and wipe it with a kitchen towel.
  9. Roast the paratha on a low flame from both the sides until crispy. Apply some oil on both the sides while roasting.
  10. When done transfer to the plate.
  11. Yummy 'Punjabi Aloo Da Paratha' is ready to be served. Top it with butter and serve with curd.
