Besan Murukku | Kharaloo | Khara is a famous snack prepared for Janmashtami in Southern part of India. This is crunchy and tasty snack loved by all. It uses gram flour, rice flour and some spices like carom seeds, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. This does not require much ingredients and time. Kids, as well as adults, will love to eat this murukku as a tea time snack. You can prepare and store this murukku for a longer duration. So, try to make this famous snack and let us know how was it.
Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-
- Adding rice flour gives a nice taste and crunch to the dish.
- The dough should be soft (softer than chapati dough). But do not add knead very soft dough.
- Add red chilli powder according to your taste. You can use crushed unroasted carom seeds as well.
- Fry the murukku directly in the oil. The flame should be on medium-high.
- After adding murukku, the oil should start bubbling. After 4 to 5 seconds, flip the murukku and fry from another side too for a few seconds. It gets fry quickly. Once the bubbled reduces, take the murukku out.
