Besan Shimla Mirch Sabji is a lunch special dish.

Besan Shimla Mirch Sabji is a quick and easy recipe. It is a very known dish and tastes great with roti and paratha. It requires green capscium, gram flour and spices like fennel seeds, cumin seeds etc which are easily available at home. Addition of lemon juice gives it a tangy flavor. Ingredients

  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 teaspoon
  • Fenugreek seeds/Methi dana - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds/Saunf - 1 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/Hing powder - 1 pinch
  • Green chili/Hari Mirch - 1 finely chopped
  • Gram flour/Besan - 2&1/2 tablsepoon
  • Green Capsicum/Shimla Mirch - 2 no chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander seeds powder/Dhania powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, then put the cumin seeds. As the seeds crackle, put the fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, and asafoetida powder. Saute well together.
  2. Then add, the finely chopped green chili and gram flour. Lightly roast the gram flour for 1 to 2 minutes. Now, put the chopped capsicum. Mix well together.
  3. Put salt to taste, turmeric powder, kashmiri red chili powder, and coriander seeds powder. Mix well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Open the cover, and mix again. Cover and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Once cooked, switch off the flame and squeeze the lemon juice over it.
  5. The Besan Shimla Mirch Sabji is ready to be served.
