Bread Pakoras – Oil Free Recipe

Bread pakora is a delicious recipe but it becomes unhealthy as it absorbs lot of oil if deep fried..So the best way is to saute it. It is equally yummy and much more healthy than its deep fried counterpart☺

Ingredients

  • Bread slices - 8 (the edges removed and slices cut into desired shapes - round or triangle)
  • Besan/Chickpea Flour - 1 cup
  • Salt as per taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder as per taste
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Hing - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ajwain - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
  • Water as per requirement

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except bread into a pan and make a thin paste. It should not be thick but a slightly running consistency.
  2. Heat a non stick tawa.
  3. Dip the bread pieces in the besan mixture and cook on tawa. Cook on medium heat.
  4. When the besan changes color flip the bread on other side and cook likewise.
  5. If you feel it is sticking to the tawa add some drops of oil, though this is optional.
  6. Enjoy tasty bread pakoras.
