Chatpata Cheesy Sandwich | Mumbai Style is a famous street food that you can find in every corner of the Mumbai streets. This is an easy and basic recipe that doesn’t take much time for preparation. This sandwich uses a generous amount of cheese and butter, with the touch of the healthy veggies used for stuffing. You can serve this recipe as a breakfast dish or even as an evening snack and can be enjoyed by both kids and adults. It is a must-try recipe so try it.   • To prevent the stuffing from falling out, press the sandwich gently on the pan with the help of a small dish or your hands. This also helps in preventing the two slices of bread from falling apart.
  • Remember to mash the mixture well while making the stuffing.
  • You can use whichever cheese is available to you.

Ingredients

  • Onion/ Pyaaz - 2 tablespoon finely chopped
  • Tomato/ Tamatar - 2 tablespoon finely chopped
  • Cheese - 1 Tablespoon grated
  • Spice Mix Powder/ Garam Masala - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt/ Namak - as per taste
  • Red Chili/ Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder - as per taste (optional)
  • Coriander Leaves/ Dhaniya Patta - A handful finely chopped
  • Bread - 2 slices
  • Butter - as per requirement

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add finely chopped onion and tomato.
  2. Add grated cheese, garam masala and chaat masala with salt and red chili powder as per taste to the bowl.
  3. Mix all the ingredients well and mash it all together with your hands.
  4. Meanwhile, heat the pan and put some butter on it.
  5. Place a slice of bread on it and add the mixture on it and spread it throughout the bread evenly.
  6. Place another slice of bread on top of it and press both the slices together to prevent the stuffing to come out.
  7. Add some more butter to the pan and flip it on to the other side. Keep flipping them until both sides are toasted or looks brown.
  8. You can add grated cheese for garnishing.
