Chilli Sooji Bites is an innovative dish.

Chilli Sooji Bites is a new and instant snack dish. It mainly requires sooji and curd. Further, a saucy preparation with vegetables makes it more yummy and palatable. A twist to the regular sooji-curd dishes preparation. The plain mini uttapam on tossing with the saucy veggie mixture, makes it a mouth-watering dish. Kids and adults will enjoy it. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • If the curd is thick, then add some water.
  • In place of oil, you can use ghee to grease the pan.
  • You can use green capsicum if another colored capsicum is not available.

Ingredients

  • Curd/Dahi - 1/2 cup
  • Semolina/Sooji - 1 cup
  • Salt -to taste
  • Oil - as required
  • Green chili/Hari mirch - 1 no finely chopped
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1 no long cut
  • Red capsicum - 1/2 no long cut
  • Yellow capsicum - 1/2 no long cut
  • Green capsicum - 1/2 no long cut
  • Tomato/Tamatar - 1 no finely chopped
  • Red chili powder/Lal mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - a handful
  • Tomato ketchup - 2 tablespoon
  • Water - as required

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, put the sooji and curd. Mix well. Rest the mixture for 10 minutes. Then add salt to taste and mix.
  2. Heat the pan, grease it with oil. Make small shape uttapam with the ready mixture. Put some oil over it and cook on low flame.
  3. In the other pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Then, put the finely chopped green chili and long cut onion. Saute well on medium to high flame.
  4. Then, put the long cut red, yellow and green capsicum. Add the finely chopped tomato, salt to taste, red chili powder and some coriander leaves. Mix well.
  5. Meanwhile, check the uttapam. Flip and cook from the other side till light brown in color. Cook from both the sides. Take it out in a tray and allow it cool down.
  6. After the coriander leaves, put the tomato ketchup. Mix well and cook on medium to high flame.
  7. As the mini uttapam, cool down cut it into 4 pieces. Then, add these pieces to the other pan with vegetables. Mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves and turn off the gas.
  8. 'Chilli Sooji Bites' is ready to be served.
