Chinese Bhel is a delicious instant snack for all, especially kids.

Chinese Bhel is a crunchy and lip-smacking snack. The schezwan noodles are fried then tossed with veggies like capsicum, cabbage, onion, carrot and some sauces. This is a mouthwatering snack perfect for tea-time or any get-together either for birthday parties. It is an Indo-Chinese street food famous across India and loved by all age groups. This is a super easy recipe and requires fewer efforts. So, try this simple recipe of this famous snack and let us know how you liked it.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • If you do not find the schezwan noodles then you can use Hakka noodles as well.
  • Use the vegetables of your choice and availability.
  • You can store the fried noodles in an airtight container for up to 2 to 3 months.

Ingredients

  • Schezwan Noodles - 1 Cup boiled
  • Corn flour - 3 to 4 Tablespoon
  • Carrot - 1/2 Cup julienne
  • Capsicum - 1/2 Cup julienne
  • Cabbage - 1/2 Cup julienne
  • Onion - 1 julienne
  • Soy Sauce - 1 Teaspoon
  • Schezwan Sauce - 1 Tablespoon
  • Tomato Ketchup - 1 Tablespoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Red chilli powder - as per taste
  • Oil - as required for frying + 2 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Boil the schezwan noodles for 2 to 3 minutes. Then strain it. Wash it with water and strain the water completely. Keep aside.
  2. Take a the noodles in a bowl and add corn flour. Mix well to coat the noodles with corn flour.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for frying.
  4. Once the oil is hot fry the noodles. The flame should be medium while frying. Once the noodles turns nice golden brown and crisp then take them out in a bowl.
  5. Now, take a pan. Add 2 tablespoon oil and heat it.
  6. Add chopped onion and saute it on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes or until they turn little soft.
  7. Then add julienne of capsicum and carrot. Saute it for 2 minutes.
  8. Add cabbage julienne and saute it for minute or 2.
  9. Now, add salt, red chilli powder, soy sauce, schezwan sauce, tomato ketchup. Mix all together and cook for a minute. Then switch off the gas.
  10. Add the vegetables in the fried noodles. Mix well.
  11. Yummy 'Chinese Bhel' is ready to be served.
