Chole Bhature In Punjabi Style

Chole bhature in Punjabi style is a delicious and popular meal for any festive day in North India.

Punjabi chole bhature is a very famous and tasty dish which is a part of any celebration. This is a filling dish which you can serve for breakfast/lunch/dinner. This is a very popular street food across India. Now, you can easily prepare bhature and chole at home by following this simple recipe. This does not require much preparation and cooking time. So, try to make this meal for your family and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • It is recommended to use barik sooji/rava/semolina. If you have moti sooji/rava/semolina then just grind it then use.
  • You can use either baking soda/meetha soda or baking powder to make the bhature.
  • Resting of the dough is important for perfect bhature.
  • Fry the bhature on a medium flame once the oil is hot.
  • Serve this bhature with Punjabi Chole.

Ingredients

  • All purpose flour/ maida - 1 cup
  • Rava/ semolina - 1 cup
  • Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Curd - 4 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil/ tel - 2 Teaspoon and rest for frying
  • Baking Powder OR Baking Soda - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt/ namak - as per taste

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add whole wheat flour, semolina, refined flour, curd, salt, sugar, baking powder to it. Make a dough for bhature by adding water as required. Add 2 teaspoon of oil in kneading the dough.
  2. Rest the dough for 3-4 hours in a warm place by covering it with a plate/ muslin cloth. The dough will be fluffy then.
  3. Make round/ oval shaped bhature using a rolling pin with the dough. Meanwhile, heat enough oil in a pan on medium flame.
  4. Fry the bhature from both sides on a medium flame and press them gently with the frying spoon, so as to make them fluffy.
  5. Delicious chole bhature in Punjabi style is ready to be served in meals.
