Corn Vada | Sweet Corn Vada a simple and mouth-watering snack.

Corn Vada | Sweet Corn Vada is an easy and popular snack prepared from sweet corn kernels. The recipe has a very good taste, texture, and uniqueness. It is prepared from a wide range of ingredients with a different type of combination of flours and spices. It is such a unique and tasty recipe from sweet corn. Corn Vada is best-eaten warm when it’s crisp on the outside with a soft and chewy interior.   • While deep frying the vada, ensure to keep medium to low flame.
  • You can also add corn flour to the mixture.

Ingredients

  • Sweet corn/ maize/ corn - 2 nos
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - a fistful, finely chopped
  • Ginger-green chili paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Besan/ Gram flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - as required
  • Dry Mango Powder/Amchur - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/ All Spice Mix - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red Chili Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - as required for frying
  • Green chilli - 2, slit

Instructions

  1. Blend sweet corn kernels in a mixer jar to a coarse paste without adding any water.
  2. Transfer the paste. Add onion, coriander leaves, ginger-green chili paste, rice flour, besan, salt, amchur powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and red chili powder. Mix all the ingredients properly.
  3. Add water and mix it well. Make sure everything is well combined.
  4. Now, apply oil on hands and pinch a ball-sized dough from the mixture.
  5. Flatten it slightly to form a vada.
  6. Further, deep fry in hot oil stirring occasionally. Fry on a medium flame until the vada turns golden brown and crisp.
  7. Take out the vada from the pan into a kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
  8. Now, fry green chilli.
  9. Delicious 'Corn Vada | Sweet Corn Vada' is ready to be served.
