Ingredients

  • Chana dal/Bengal Gram - 1 Cup (boiled)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 Cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Wheat flour - 1 Cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Tamarind chutney - as required

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl, add wheat flour, 1 teaspoon oil and salt. Mix it well. Add water to make a soft dough.
  2. Take a pan, add 1 tablespoon oil and heat it. Add cumin seeds and saute. Add boiled dal and mix it well.
  3. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder saute for 2 minutes. Then turn off the flame.
  4. Make a ball from the dough and fill it with daal mixture. Seal it properly and roll out with the help of roller to make puri.
  5. Take a pan, add oil and heat it. Fry puri till it turns golden brown.
  6. Take a plate, place puri then spread tamarind chutney on it and roll.
  7. Yummy 'Dal Frankie' is ready to be served. Garnish with coriander leaves and tomato sauce and serve.
