Green Gram & Spinach Stuffed Ball – Tasty Starter
Ingredients
- For base : Moong Dal powder - 2/3 cup
- Besan/ Gram flour - 1/3 cup
- Spinach/Paalak (chopped, washed and blanched) - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- For Stuffing : Crushed paneer/Cottage cheese - 1 cup
- Boiled potato- 1 medium size
- Chopped vegetables - 1 cup (onion, tomato, capsicum, green chilli, coriander and spinach)
- Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Amchur/Dry Mango powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam Masala - 1/4 teaspoon
- Oil - 4 tablespoons (1 tablespoon for dough and 3 tablespoons for shallow frying)
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients of base and make a dough using water. Rest for 10 minutes.
- Mix all the ingredients of stuffing and make 8 small sized balls.
- Divide the dough into 8 parts. Take one portion and make it flat with hand. Now fill it with stuffing and make a ball of it. Now repeat the same procedure for each portion.
- Boil water in a pan. Put balls in boiling water and wait till it floats on top by itself. Take floating balls out on a plate and rest it to cool completely.
- Heat oil in a nonstick pan add the boiled balls and shallow fry until the balls are golden in color.
- Delicious Green Gram & Spinach Stuffed Ball is ready to serve with chutney or sauce .
