Homemade Cheesespread is a delicious spread made with cashew nuts. It is a fermented cashew paste mixed with herbs, black pepper and salt. It can be a dip or spread or topping. It is very easy to prepare too. So, try it out.

Ingredients

  • Cashew nuts/kaju tukda - 1/2 Cup soaked in water overnight
  • Mixed herbs (Basil, oregano, zaatar spice) - 1 Tablespoon
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste

Instructions

  1. Take a grinder jar, add soaked kaju. Add 2 tablespoons of water. Grind it to a smooth paste.
  2. Transfer to a container. Rest it for 8 hours to ferment. Do not ferment it for more than 8 hours.
  3. After fermentation, add mixed herbs, black pepper powder, salt. Mix well. Store in a refrigerator.
  4. 'Cheesespread' is ready to be served. Serve this bread or roti or paratha.
  5. Note: You can store this in a refrigerator for up to 10 days.
