Ingredients

  • Milk : 1/4 cup
  • Ghee : 1/2 cup
  • Poppy seeds (Crushed) : 2 teaspoon
  • Cardamom powder : 1 teaspoon
  • Dates : 200 grams (deseeded and ground)
  • Refined flour/Maida : 1 cup
  • Coconut desiccated : 1/4 cup
  • Ghee for frying
  • Salt as per taste
  • Sugar : 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Take the refined flour in a bowl and add 1/2 cup of ghee into it .
  2. Add a pinch of salt and add milk to it. Knead it and prepare dough out of it and keep it aside.
  3. For the filling, prepare a smooth mixture of crushed poppy seeds, desiccated coconut, ground dates, green cardamom powder and sugar. Make small even sized balls of the filling.
  4. Take the dough and make round balls of equal size. With the help of rolling pin, flatten the dough balls (like the size of a puri) .
  5. At the center put the filling and seal it giving the shape of a ghugra.
  6. Deep fry the ghugras in ghee.
  7. Enjoy tasty and crispy Khajur (Dates) Na Ghugra.
