Makhana And Paneer Curry

Ingredients

Makhana - 100 grams
Paneer(cut into cubes) - 100 grams
Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 1 big
Kaju paste - 1 tablespoon ; Few kaju tukda for garnishing
Salt/garam masala/turmeric powder/coriander powder/red chilli powder - 2 teaspoons each
Oil - 3 tablespoons
Ginger, garlic and green chilli paste - 2 teaspoons
Cumin/mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon each

Instructions

Roast makhana in 1 teaspoon oil. Keep it aside.
Make a paste of onion and tomato and keep it aside.
Soak kaju in hot water for 5 minutes and make a paste.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds. Add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste.
Sauté it and add onion paste. Cook till the paste turns brown. Add tomato paste and cook well.
Add all the spices, kaju paste and cook until oil leaves the pan.
Add water and boil for 3 minutes to make gravy.
Add roasted makhana and paneer cubes in the gravy. Boil for 1 more minute.
Switch off the gas and cover with lid to bring all the flavours together.
Tasty makhana and paneer curry is ready. Garnish with some kaju tukda and serve with roti/ chapati/ paratha.
