Ingredients

  • For Sugar Syrup:-
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Water - 1/2 Cup
  • Green cardamom - 2
  • Saffron - few strands
  • Gulab jal/Rose water - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Desiccated coconut - 1 Tablespoon
  • For Chumchum:-
  • Bread - 6 slice
  • Desiccated coconut - 4 Tablespoon + 1 Tablespoon
  • Sliced Pistachios/Pista - 1 Tablespoon
  • Fresh Malai/Cream - 2 to 3 Tablespoon
  • Sliced Almonds - 1 Tablespoon
  • Powdered sugar - 2 Teaspoon
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and add sugar, water. Cook this on a high flame while stirring continuously. Bring it to a boil then switch off the gas. Add whole green cardamom and saffron strands, desiccated coconut and mix. Let it cool.
  2. Meanwhile, take a bowl. Add fresh dudh ki malai, powdered sugar, sliced almonds and pista (keep some for garnishing). Mix well. Refrigerate for 2 minutes.
  3. Now, take a bread slice and cut in rounds using a cutter or cap of small bottle/jar.
  4. Take out the malai mix from the fridge after 2 minutes.
  5. Take one round slice of bread and spread the malai on it. Cover it with another round slice of bread. Keep aside and make more.
  6. Now, add the rose water/gulab jal in chashni. mix well.
  7. Now, dip the chumchum in sugar syrup.
  8. Coat it with desiccated coconut and keep on a serving plate. Make more as above.
  9. Top the chumchum with almonds and pista.
  10. Yummy 'Malai Bread Chumchum' is ready to be served.
