Matar Ki Chaat | Hare Matar Ki Chaat is a lip-smacking chaat for everyone.

Matar Ki Chaat | Hare Matar Ki Chaat is a delicious chaat recipe very popular in the winter season. This uses fresh green peas /hare matar along with some spices and chutneys. It is very simple and quick to prepare. Moreover, this does not require much ingredients and time to cook. This has spicy, tangy and sweet taste because of green chutney, tamarind chutney and spices. Everyone will love this piping hot chaat. So, try to make it at home and enjoy with your loved ones. Do share your feedback as well.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • It is recommended to use green peas which are smaller in size and sweet in taste the chaat without blanching the peas.
  •  If  this type of peas is not available regular green peas as well can be used. Blanch and use the green peas.
  • Spices and chutneys can be added according to taste.

Ingredients

  • Green peas/Hare matar - 1 cup blanched
  • Green chilli - 1 chopped
  • Mustard seeds/rai - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Garam Masala/All Spice Mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - to taste
  • Black pepper powder/Kali miri powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - a handful chopped
  • Coriander-Mint chutney - 1 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Tamarind/Imli chutney - 1 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Lemon juice - to taste
  • Nylon Sev - as required for garnishing
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green peas. For this, boil water in a vessel and then let the green peas boil in it for 1 to 2 minutes. Then immediately transfer the boiled green peas to chilled water. Strain the green peas remove the water completely, and keep them aside.
  2. Now, heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add mustard seeds and green chilli. Then add blanched green peas. Mix well.
  4. Add salt, garam masala, chaat masala, coriander leaves, and black pepper powder. Mix well and cook for a minute. Then turn off the flame. Transfer to a bowl.
  5. Add coriander-mint chutney, and tamarind chutney. Mix well.
  6. Sprinkle lemon juice, chaat masala, and nylon sev on top.
  7. Delicious 'Matar Ki Chaat | Hare Matar Ki Chaat' is ready to be served.
