Ingredients

  • Green peas/Matar - 1 Cup (blanched)
  • Methi/Fenugreek leaves - 250 Gram (finely chopped)
  • Tomato Paste - 1 Cup (2 tomato, 1 green chilli, 1 inch ginger, 10 cashew)
  • Oil - 2 Tablespoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Gram masala powder/All spice mix - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Fresh Malai/Cream - 1/2 Cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, add water and blanch the methi leaves for 5 minutes. Sieve it and put it in a bowl.
  2. In a pan add oil and heat it. Add cumin seeds and saute. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder and saute.
  3. Add tomato paste and cook till oil comes from its side. Add garam masala powder.
  4. Add malai and mix it well. Cook for 1 minute, add salt and mix it well.
  5. Add blanched methi, matar and cook for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup of water and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Turn off the flame.
  7. 'Methi Matar Malai' is ready to be served. Garnish it with cream and serve hot with phulka/rice.
