Mirch Do Pyaza is an innovative dish.

Mirch Do Pyaza is a Sunday-special dinner dish. Usually, paneer do pyaza, bhindi do pyaza are the famous dish. Here, is a wonderful new dish using capsicum and onion. It is a must-try dish. It is very easy to cook and prepare. The capsicum and onion after sauteing become crunchy and tasty. The gravy requires gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger, green chili, onion and tomato which makes it yummy. Adding the malai makes it rich and creamy in taste. Ingredients

  • Oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1 no diced
  • Green Capsicum/Shimla Mirch - 1 to 2 no diced
  • Mustard seeds/Rai - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger/Adrak - 1/2 inch finely chopped
  • Green chili/Hari mirch - 1 no finely chopped
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1 no finely chopped
  • Gram flour/Besan - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - as required
  • Tomato/Tamatar - 1 no finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder/Lal mirch powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Homemade malai - 1 to 2 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves - to garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan, then put the diced onion and capsicum. Saute well on low to medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir them in between.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil, in another pan. Then put, the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, finely chopped ginger and green chili. Saute well. Put the finely chopped onion and mix well.
  3. In a bowl, take the gram flour, add some water, whisk to make the slurry and then add to the gravy. Saute on high flame.
  4. Now, put the finely chopped tomato. Add some water and mix well. Put turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt to taste and mix well.
  5. Put some water and mix. Then, put the shallow fried capsicum and onion to the gravy. Mix well. Put the homemade malai and mix well.
  6. Cook the sabji for 1 minute. Put coriander leaves and mix. Again garnish with coriander leaves.
  7. The Mirch Do Pyaza is ready to be served.
