Mix Dal Vada | Mix Dal Bhajiya is a lip-smacking snack for everyone.

Mix Dal Vada | Mix Dal Bhajiya is a crispy and yummy snack. This uses different types of lentils/dal, spinach, cabbage, onion, some herbs and spices. This does not require much preparation. You just need to soak and grind the dal. It gets ready within minutes. These are crispy from outside and soft from inside. Bhajiya or Dal Vada is a favourite tea time snack of everyone. Hence everyone will love this dal vada. So, try to make this snack at home and enjoy with your loved ones. Do share your feedback as well.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • The dal should be ground without adding water else it will be difficult to make bhajiya/vada.
  • Onion and garlic are optional.
  • Semolina makes the bhajiya/dal vada crunchier and so should be added.
  • The dal batter should be beaten with hands to make it fluffier.

Ingredients

  • Mix Lentil/Dal - 1 Cup
  • Palak/Spinach - 1/2 Cup
  • Cabbage - 2 Tablespoon, finely chopped
  • Onion-Garlic-Ginger-Green Chilli - 1/4 Cup, coarse paste
  • Rava/Semolina - 2 Tablespoon
  • Coriander Leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Oil - as required, for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the mix dal/lentil (moong dal/yellow gram dal or split green gram, masoor dal/red lentil, chana dal/Bengal gram, toor dal/pigeon peas, urad dal/split black gram) for at least 4 hours. Then drain the water completely. Grind the mix dal coarsely. Do not use water for grinding. Transfer the mixture to a bowl.
  2. Add chopped spinach, finely chopped cabbage, coarse paste of onion-ginger-garlic-green chilli, semolina, salt, and coriander leaves. Mix well and beat the batter with hands.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying.
  4. Make small vadas/bhajiyas and fry them on a low flame. After 2 to 3 minutes, flip and fry. Once they turn nice golden brown on all the sides, take them out on a tissue paper.
  5. Delicious'Mix Dal Vada | Mix Dal Bhajiya' is ready to be served.
