Moong Methi Sabji is healthy and mouth-watering curry dish.

Moong Methi Sabji is a new delicious dish. It is a very nutritious dish. It tastes great with roti and rice. As, it is rich in protein and also good for bone health. The main ingredients are green gram and green fenugreek seeds. The gravy preparation requires curd with spices like turmeric powder and red chili powder. Ingredients

  • Green gram/Moong beans - 1 cup cooked
  • Clarified butter/Ghee - 1 to 2 tablespoon
  • Asafoetida powder/Hing powder - a pinch
  • Curd/Dahi - 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red Chili Powder/La Mirch Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Mustard seeds/Rai - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green fenugreek seeds/Hari methi dana - 2 to 3 teaspoon
  • Water - as required

Instructions

  1. In the pressure cooker, cook the green gram with required amount of water, for 2 to 3 whistles. The green gram should be softly cooked and it should have semi-liquid consistency.
  2. Take one cup of curd. To it add turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. Mix well. Heat ghee, put the hing powder, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Then, switch off the flame.
  3. Add a spoonful of the curd mixture and mix immediately. Keep stirring. Add all of the curd mixture and mix. Turn on the gas flame.
  4. Keep stirring continuously and let it boil. As the curd gravy boils, put the green fenugreek seeds and allow it cook for 2 minutes. Add some water and cook on low flame.
  5. Now, add the cooked moong beans/green gram and mix well. Let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. The Moong Methi Sabji is ready to be served.
