Onion Rings | Crispy Onion Rings is a crunchy and a yummy snack for all. 

A delicious appetizer and evening tea-time snack is ‘Onion Rings | Crispy Onion Rings’. This is a restaurant style recipe and is very quick to make too. The crunchiness of the coating perfectly balanced with the sweet taste of the onion. It is a perfect munching option for all family members. You require only a few ingredients and it does not require much time to fry. Moreover, this is super easy to make suitable for tea-time snack or for any get-together and party. So, try to make this snack at home and get appreciated by everyone.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Use cold water to make the batter.
  • The consistency of the should not be too thin or thick.
  • For making the bread crumbs, just grind the bread for few seconds.
  • You can keep the coated onion rings in the refrigerator. And fry the rings immediately before serving.

Ingredients

  • Onion - 1
  • Refined Flour/Maida - 1 Cup
  • Corn Flour - less than 1/2 Cup
  • Red Chilli Powder - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Cinnamon powder - a pinch
  • Garam Masala/All spice mix - a pinch
  • Bread Crumbs - as required
  • Cold water - as required to make the batter
  • Oil - for Frying

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion. Cut it horizontally into halves. Then make the rings of desired thickness. Separate the rings.
  2. Take a bow and add refined flour, corn flour, salt, red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, garam masala. Mix well and add cold water to make semi thick batter. The batter should not be too thin or thick.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying. Take a plate and spread the bread crumbs.
  4. Dip the onion rings in the batter then coat it with bread crumbs.
  5. Once the oil is medium hot, fry the rings. The flame should be medium low.
  6. When they turn nice golden brown, take them out on a tissue paper to soak extra oil.
  7. Delicious 'Onion Rings | Crispy Onion Rings' is ready to be served.
