Palak Tinda Phali Sabji is an easy and effortless side dish that you can pair with fulkas, rotis or chapatis. This is a very healthy recipe as it uses palak, tinda, and fali which are all good for your health. It uses basic ingredients and does not require any elaborate preparation.   • After cooking tinda and cluster beans for 2 to 3 whistles, remember to remove the whistle before taking out the lid.
  • You can adjust the level of spiciness as per your taste.
  • While adding salt to the sabji, remember that you have already added it while cooking the tinda and cluster beans.

Ingredients

  • FOR COOKING TINDA AND CLUSTER BEANS-
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Jeera/ Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Tinda/ Apple gourd - 1 cup
  • Guar phali/ Cluster beans - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 to 2 tablespoon
  • FOR PREPARING THE SABJI-
  • Laal mirch powder/ Red chilli powder - as per taste
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Hari mirch/ Green chilli - as per taste slit
  • Palak/ Spinach - 1 cup chopped
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Jeera/ Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dhaniya powder/ Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Laal mirchi powder/ Red chilli powder - as per taste
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, add oil, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, tinda, cluster beans, salt and water to it and mix them well. Close the lid and let it cook for 2 to 3 whistles on high flame.
  2. Meanwhile, in a pan add oil and cumin seeds and let them heat on medium flame.
  3. As the cumin seeds start to crackle, add the spinach to the pan and mix it well.
  4. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and turmeric to the pan and mix them well.
  5. Add green chilli to the pan and mix it well.
  6. Add the boiled tinda and cluster beans to the pan and mix them well on high flame. Let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes until it starts leaving the oil behind.
  7. Palak Tinda Phali Sabji is ready to be served.
