  • Using rice flour in the mixture helps in making these pakodas crispier.
  • If rice flour is not available to you, you can use cornflour or grind sooji to make fine powder and use it instead of rice flour.
  • Adding hot oil while preparing the mixture also helps in making the pakodas crispy.

Ingredients

  • Pyaaz/ Onion - 2 finely sliced
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Laal mirch powder/ Red chilli powder - as per taste
  • Garam masala/ All spice mix - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dhaniya powder/ Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Jeera powder/ Cumin seeds powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Adrak-Hari mirch paste/ Ginger- Green chilli paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Saunf/ Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon coarsely crushed
  • Besan/ Gram flour - 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoon
  • Dhaniya patta/ Coriander leaves - a handful finely chopped
  • Ajwain/ Carom seeds - 1 teaspoon crushed
  • Water - 2 to 3 tablespoon
  • Hot oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Oil - for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add onion, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder, ginger-green chilli paste, and fennel seeds to it and mix them well.
  2. Add, gram flour, rice flour, carom seeds, and coriander leaves and mix them well.
  3. Add water in small amounts and oil to the bowl and mix them well with the other ingredients to make a thick consistency batter.
  4. Meanwhile heat oil in a pan.
  5. Take a part of the mixture and make it into a ball and drop those balls in the oil carefully. Let it cook completely on medium flame until they look golden brown in colour.
  6. 'Pyaaz Ke Pakode | Lachhedaar Pyaaz Pakode' are ready to be served.
