Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING POTATO STUFFING :
  • Boiled potato / Aloo - 3 Peeled and grated
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • All spice mix powder / Garam masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • FOR PREPARING GRAM FLOUR BATTER :
  • Gram flour/ Besan - 1 Cup
  • Carom seeds / Ajwain - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli flakes - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required
  • FOR PREPARING PYAZ BONDA :
  • Pyaz / Onion - 1
  • Oil - For frying

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING POTATO STUFFING :
  2. Take boiled potato in a bowl. Add coriander leaves, salt, red chilli powder, all spice mix powder, and roasted cumin seeds powder. Mix well. Keep it aside.
  3. FOR PREPARING GRAM FLOUR BATTER :
  4. Take gram flour in a bowl. Add carom seeds by rubbing between palms, red chilli flakes, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix well. Then add water gradually to make a batter of thick consistency. Mix well. Keep it aside.
  5. FOR PREPARING PYAZ BONDA :
  6. Cut the onion in half. Now carefully separate each layers. Now take one layer and stuff it with prepared potato stuffing. Now cover it with another onion layer. Likewise, prepared all pyaz bonda.
  7. Heat oil in a pan to fry the bonda. Dip the prepared pyaz bonda into the batter and coat them evenly. Place it into the hot oil. Fry them on medium flame.
  8. Deep fry them until it turns crispy and golden brown from all sides. Then, take them out on a serving plate using a slotted spoon and cut it.
  9. 'Pyaz Bonda | Onion Bonda' is ready to be served.
