Rasam | Instant Rasam Tea is a healthy and tasty dish. 

Rasam | Instant Rasam Tea is quick and easy to prepare a dish from South India. You can serve it as a meal or a have it like soup or tea. It tastes amazing in all forms. Also, this goes well with rice or idli. It has a very soothing effect on sore throat or cough and cold. Moreover, this gets ready in just 10 minutes and does not require much preparation. This is a very good remedy to boost immunity as well. So, try to make it at home and be healthy.

This rasam was prepared by a lovely mom – Archana Chakravarthy.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can adjust the spiciness to your taste. But make sure you are adding the same proportion of black peppercorns and cumin seeds.
  • It is an immunity-boosting recipe, you can have it on a daily basis as well.

Ingredients

  • Tomato - 1 big sized
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Cumin seeds - 2 Teaspoon
  • Black peppercorns - 2 Teaspoon
  • Tamarind - amla sized piece or as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA:-
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter - 2 Teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/Hing - a pinch
  • Dry Red Chilli - 2
  • Coriander leaves - as required for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Grind cumin seeds, black pepper powder, garlic, and curry leaves to a fine powder.
  2. Now, add chopped tomato and tamarind. Grind again to make a smooth paste.
  3. Transfer the paste to a vessel or a pan and add water to it. Mix well. Boil the rasam.
  4. PREPARING THE TADKA:- Meanwhile, prepare the tadka. Heat ghee in a tadka pan.
  5. Add mustard seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and dry red chilli.
  6. Once the rasam is boiled, pour the tadka into it and add salt. Mix well. Garnish it with coriander leaves and then turn off the flame.
  7. Delicious 'Rasam | Instant Rasam Tea' is ready to be served.
