Rice Balls | Leftover Rice Recipe is a delicious way to use leftover rice. This requires leftover rice, some veggies, spices and cheese. These are a mouthwatering snack for all, especially kids. This is cheesy, crunchy snack for all. These are very easy and simple to make. By preparing this snack you can limit the wastage of food. So, try this recipe and let us know how you liked it.

  • You can add veggies of your choice.
  • Use one of these for binding – gram flour/besan, sooji, corn flour, bread crumbs.
  • If you want you can deep fry these balls.

Ingredients

  • Leftover Rice - 1 Bowl
  • Sooji/Fine Semolina - 2 Tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cheese - 1 to 2 cubes
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Green Chilli - 2 finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - a handful chopped
  • Lemon - 1/2
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - as required

Instructions

  1. Take a grinder jar and add leftover rice. Add 2 tablespoon water and grind it to make paste. Transfer it to a bowl.
  2. Add chopped onion, semolina, salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, turmeric powder, chopped green chilli, ginger, coriander leaves, grated cheese and lemon juice..
  3. Mix well to make a dough like mixture. Make small smooth balls of the mixture.
  4. Meanwhile, heat an appe pan. Grease it with oil.
  5. Cook the balls on a low flame until they turn nice golden brown from all sides. Drizzle some oil to cook the balls.
  6. Once cooked, transfer to a plate. Garnish it with lemon, onion rings and coriander leaves.
  7. Yummy 'Rice Balls' are ready to be served with green chutney.
